How to Reach Bhutan

By Air

Paro International Airport located at a distance of 7 km from the city of Paro is the only international airport in the country that easily connects tourists from the rest of the world including major cities of India.

By Road

Although reaching Bhutan by roadways is a lengthy process, it offers one of the best travelling experiences. The National Highway 317 A is the only major highway in the country that connects India with Bhutan through roadways in the city of Phuentsholing via Jaigaon situated on the Indo-Bhutan border.

By Train

To date, there are no dedicated rail routes to reach Bhutan from its nearby countries. However, tourists can travel to the nearest railway station, Hasimara located at a distance of 41 km from the city of Phuentsholing.
