Paro

The home to numerous sacred sites and historical monuments, Paro is a beautiful valley situated at a distance of 50 km from the capital city of Thimpu. Often recognized as the summer capital of Bhutan, the valley boasts its beauty with lush green valleys, rugged terrains and iconic monuments making it one of the most visited places of the country. Placed at an elevation of 2,200 m, the valley is home to numerous tourist attractions sites which include Paro Taktsang, National Museum of Bhutan, Zuri Dzong and many more. Thimphu

The capital city of Bhutan, Thimphu is situated in the west-central region of the country and boasts its beauty with scenic natural beauty, rich culture and historic monasteries that date back to the early 15th century. Situated at an altitude of 2,334 m the city is home to numerous tourist attraction sites that include National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma Statue, Royal Textile Academy, Royal Takin Preserve and many more. Punakha

Punakha is a beautiful valley located on the river junction of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers that has emerged as a popular tourist destination due to its blissful weather, marvellous architecture, and beautiful Dzongs. Punakha Dzong is among the most popular tourist attractions of this valley that has been built by Ngawang Namgyal in the year 1637. It is also the second largest Dzong in Bhutan and attracts tourists from all over the world throughout the year. Other popular sightseeing places in Punakha include the Punakha Suspension Bridge, Chimi Lhakhang, the Royal Botanical Garden and many more.

Phobjikha

Placed at an altitude of 3,000 m and above in the district of Wangdue Phodrang, Phobjikha is a small valley that is known for its panoramic views, diverse wildlife and vastly spread marshy lands. Situated in the central part of Bhutan the valley is popularly known as Gangtey and is among the few glacial valleys of the country. With dense forests and lush greenery, the valley is home to numerous trekking and hiking trails that attract adventure seekers and trekkers from all over the world. The Phobjikha valleys are located adjacent to the Jigme Dorjee National Park which welcomes a wide number of native and migratory birds making it an ideal place for bird watching. Black-necked crane is among the most popular birds that can be sighted in this valley.

Trongsa

Popularly known for its scenic views and panoramic views of the surrounding area, Trongsa is a gem of Bhutan that is regarded as among the best places to visit in the country. Trongsa Dzong is a major tourist attraction of this place which is known for its lush greenery and architectural design. The Dzong was known to be constructed in the year 1647 and is the largest Dzong in Bhutan. Apart from Trongsa Dzong, there are multiple tourist attractions site which include Ta Dzong, Chendbji Chorten, Kuenga Rabten and Trongsa Tower.

Bumthang

Situated in the east-central region of Bhutan, Bumthang is a special place known for its evergreen mountains and its offering of delectable cuisines. Mount Chomolhari

One of the sacred sites of the country, Mount Chomolhari is a great place to visit in Bhutan that boasts its beauty with high altitude mountains and sacred lakes. Located in the Paro district the mountain is also home to a holy lake, Jomo Lharang which is located at an elevation of 5,100 m in the north of the mountain. The mountain is known to be sacred and is believed that it is impossible to the top of the mountain. In recent years the place has gained huge popularity among trekkers and hikers making it a must-visit place in Bhutan.

Places in between the border are Thimphu, Punakha, Paro and Wangdue Phodrang, Jigme Dorji National Park is the iconic national park of the country. Spread across 4326 sq km of land the national park is home to numerous rare and endangered wild animal and bird species that attract nature lovers from all over the world. Some of the popular animals that can be sighted in this park are Takin, Snow Leopard, Bengal Tiger, Himalayan Blue Sheep and many more. Wangdue Phodrang

Wangdue Phodrang is the second largest district of Bhutan that boasts its beauty with subtropical climatic conditions, rich culture and untouched natural beauty. Situated at an altitude of 28,000 ft the place is home to some of the best monasteries stupas and national parks that are widely admired by tourists. Wangdue Phodrang Dzong is the most popular Dzong of this place that is known for hosting one of the biggest festivals in the country, Wangdue Phodrang Tshechu.
