Bhutan has an exquisite textile art. Different regions have their own specialties which is an art passed down from generations. Mostly women do weaving and it is a home-based skill using a strap loom. The intricate designs and patterns are generally inspired by Buddhist themes.
The aesthetic beauty of the Bhutanese textile has baffled experts. The unique Timah brocade, the supplementary warp (kushü), and supplementary weft (hor) of Bhutanese women are considered almost impossible to create with a simple back strap loon and have attracted experts from around the world.
We offer different packages to experience textile tours. For reference, we are sharing two tours.
